Travel is where a principal is most predictable and least familiar with their surroundings. Schedules are fixed, routes are new, and routines are visible to hotel staff, drivers, and anyone watching. Most travel risk can be reduced with preparation that happens well before departure.

Before you leave

• Limit who knows the itinerary. Share full details only with people who need them, and avoid circulating schedules by open email or group chat.
• Know the destination. Review local crime patterns, political conditions, health risks, and the location of the nearest capable hospital.
• Book with care. Where possible, avoid the principal’s name appearing on public-facing reservations, and choose accommodation for access control as much as comfort.

Devices and communications
